Region’s newest trial team introduces jury focus groups, other innovative strategies

Mark Alexander and Andrew Gould, attorneys with one of North Georgia’s top firms –Stewart, Melvin and Frost– have formed the region’s newest trial team specializing in cases involving victims and families of serious personal injury and wrongful death.

The Uncommon Trial Team utilizes a unique team approach focusing on Mark’s and Andrew’s strengths and experience in personal injury litigation.

Mark’s experience in the courtroom and long history of unparalleled dedication to navigating his clients through some of life’s worst crises, helped him secure one of the largest civil trial verdicts in Hall County history for one of his clients – an $11.5 million dollar jury verdict in a vehicle accident case involving pedestrians who were struck in a car wreck.

In addition to trying multiple personal injury cases across the country, Andrew has also conducted several hundred jury focus groups in the anticipation and preparation of those trials. This experience and preparation provides Andrew’s clients with a level of insight and knowledge very few in the profession can match.

Finally, Mark and Andrew have developed an innovative, client-based system unrivaled in the profession. By integrating this client-based system into the bedrock of their practice, Mark and Andrew are always responsive, professional and prepared. Mark is generous with his time outside his practice. He currently serves on the Magistrate Judge Merit Selection Panel for the U.S. Northern District. He has been recognized in Gainesville for leadership and service that includes serving on the board of Directors for the Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce, the Gainesville First United Methodist Church Council, and the Vision 2030 Public Art Committee. Likewise, Gould has been a presenter at numerous seminars across the country, speaking on a wide range of aspects within trial strategies. He also remains a faculty member of the Keenan Trial Institute, where he has taught rules drafting, case selection, focus groups, and mediation.

Mark holds an undergraduate degree from Clemson University and a law degree from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University. He has completed studies of advanced trial advocacy techniques with the American Association for Justice and in negotiation strategies through the Harvard Negotiation Project. Mark is married to Michelle and the couple have two sons.

A native of Chatsworth, Ga., Andrew is a graduate of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, where he was the Varsity football team’s placekicker from 2005 to 2008. He received his law degree from New England Law | Boston in May 2012. He and his wife, Lindsay, who is also an attorney, are the parents of a young son, Wyatt. Their family lives in Sugar Hill, Georgia, and attend Christ the King Lutheran Church (https://www.ctklutheran.org/) in Cumming, Georgia.
