Stewart, Melvin & Frost’s Alexander Named to State Bar Board of Governors
GAINESVILLE, Ga. (May 14, 2012) – Mark Alexander, an attorney and partner with Stewart, Melvin & Frost, has been elected to the State Bar of Georgia’s Board of Governors.
Alexander is one of two board members elected by attorneys from the Northeastern Circuit, which includes Hall and Dawson counties.
“It is truly a great honor to be elected by my peers to the Board of Governors,” Alexander said. “As a board member, I want to focus on improving the image of attorneys. Being an attorney is a noble profession and I intend to highlight the positive aspects of the role we play throughout our judicial system.”
The Board of Governors consists of 148 members, who are elected to two-year terms from each of Georgia’s 49 judicial circuits, plus the Attorney General of Georgia and three appointed board members. The board controls and administers the affairs of the State Bar.
Alexander has practiced law over 20 years and has served as president of the Gainesville-Northeastern Bar Association. He specializes in personal injury, wrongful death and other litigation as a partner with Stewart, Melvin & Frost.

Douglas Stewart who is a former president of the State Bar of Georgia and a member of its Board of Governors as well as a former member of the Board of Governors and House of Delegates of the American Bar Association.
